As you may be aware, the people of Barbados elected a new Government on May 24, 2018. The new administration has, with dispatch, sought to rebuild the country’s social and economic well-being, in order to renew and maintain Barbados’ competitiveness as a tourism destination.
As a consequence, a mandatory new room tax has been introduced, effective July 1, 2018.
In the case of Dover Beach Hotel, which falls within the category of B Class and Apartment Hotels, the applied tax will be US$2.50 or $5.00 Barbados dollars per room, per night.
As mentioned, the new levy is effective July 1, 2018. The new taxes will be collected upon check-out in the form of cash or credit card
